TORRE ARIAS EDUCATIONAL FARM APPROVED

On 16th May, after prior support in the Local Forums, the project was presented to the political parties at the District of San Blas-Canillejas Plenary. This time the motion was defended by Daniel Liébana, Speaker of the Three Estates Green Axis Committee and member of the Quinta Torre Arias Citizens’ Association.
The motion was approved with the majority vote by the parties PSOE, PP and Ahora Madrid and abstention by Ciudadanos. Congratulations and appreciation are in order, especially for the unconditional support provided by PP and Ahora Madrid for the proposal tabled by the Association and the Green Axis Committee, emphasising the importance of creating such an experimental area in the city of Madrid, the concept of which is based on European examples.
After initial doubts by some local councillors regarding the feasibility of the proposal, it was necessary to remind them that the Town Planning Special Plan records the agricultural status of the Quinta and that implementation must take place gradually. Moreover, Ahora Madrid took recommended that it be included in the food strategy of the city through the commitment acquired by the Town Hall when it signed the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact.

THANK YOU FOR BELIEVING, THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING US!
We would like to express our thanks for the support you have provided us all this time; initially by defending the Quinta against its privatisation, also by participating in the guided visits we organise, or in the survey we set up, by voting and expressing your opinions.
We must consider that approval of the proposals to create the Three Estates Green Axis, to Recover the Torre Arias Historic Vineyard and now with the Educational City Farm, confirms the unbounded effort and selfless striving by the Association members and supporters.
